The primary aim of the QPLCE is to provide grants to community groups or individuals for projects which enhance our community environment.

Grants amounting to $7250 were awarded in August 2009, $9000 in May 2010, $13,500 in November 2010, $13,000 in May 2011, $17,000 in November 2011, $17.000 in May 2012, $20,000 in November 2012 & $19,859 in June 2013. In December 2014, we awarded $118,000 in grants & in 2015 a further $20,000, which means we have handed out over $250,000 in funds to the 3225 Community since inception.


Next Round of Grants

The 2017 Grant's Round opens on  21st August and closes on Sunday 24 September 2017.

There is a total pool of $30,000 (or as determined by the Board) to distribute to Community Groups with an expected limit per grant of $3,000. Amounts in excess of this will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Board.


Criteria for a Grant 

To apply for a grant, the project intended must complete the following criteria

  1. Not more than $3,000 for a single grant
  2. Local community (3225-Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale) will be the beneficiary
  3. Project is not currently funded or able to access funds from other sources
  4. Able to use the funding by 31 December 2018.
  5. Willing to recognise QPLCE and / or sponsor as the provider of funds
  6. Able to send at least two representatives to the QPLCE Celebration which is to be held on Sunday 19 November 2017. The venue will be advised later.

In addition there is a preference for projects that:

  1. have clear “Health and Wellbeing” benefits, which includes projects which enable or promote physical activity, mental health, sport, nutrition, community connectedness, health promotion or a healthy lifestyle or
  2. aimed at our youth or young people or
  3. aimed at new and unincorporated groups in the Borough.

What will not be funded?

The Queenscliff Point Lonsdale Community Enterprise Grant Scheme is not able to fund the following:

  1. Projects commenced prior to the opening date for applications in any round.
  2. Leases or maintenance or other ongoing operational costs such as salaries for ongoing positions, rent, electricity and other utilities.
  3. Requests for recurrent funding. Only new projects will be considered.
  4. Grants for research projects nor requests for Defibrillators (there is already a good spread in the Borough)

What are the funding conditions?
The following conditions will apply to projects that receive a grant:

  1. The grant recipient must demonstrate a commitment to recognise Queenscliff Point Lonsdale Community Enterprise and Bendigo Bank as provider of the grants.
  2. Seed funding/partial funding to support a partnership approach is welcome.
  3. The project funding must be expended within 12 months. Funds must be spent on the project as described in the application.
  4. Any proposed variation to the approved project must be submitted to the QPLCE for approval prior to implementation.

What is the application process?
Applications will be assessed using the Queenscliff Point Lonsdale Community Enterprise Grants Application form. Applications are to be submitted to the Grants Committee as follows:

  1. Complete the application after downloading it from the website and emailing it to, OR
  2. Complete the application, and deliver or post it to Matthew Waterson, Manager, Bendigo Bank, 65 Hesse Street Queenscliff Vic 3225
  3. Pick up a form from the Bendigo Bank in Hesse Street Queenscliff, and after completion either email it to, or deliver/post it to Bendigo Bank, 65 Hesse Street Queenscliff Vic 3225.

Receipt of applications will be acknowledged in writing. The Board of the QPLCE will ultimately assess applications received.
